Paul Blackman was up at 4am to join the queue and spent a staggering $900 on coins. “I’m very excited. I was flabbergasted,” he said.
The coins don’t come cheap. Special edition silver coins sell for $115, bronze for $60, coloured coins are $20 each, and there’s a pack of five for $34.
Each coin captures a moment in the famous Blue Heeler’s life.
“Think of your favourite episodes. You’ve got camping, you’ve got Granny Mobile,” Australia Post’s Josh Bannister said.

Fans young and old were eager to get their hands on the collection.
“I’m going to go get some coins,” said one young fan. “We love Bluey,” another added.
Dollarbucks minted in 2024 have proven so valuable that some were previously stolen.
The new collection is already selling out. Australia Post’s online store crashed under the demand, and prices are soaring on the resale market.
One coin has already been listed for resale at $999.
If you do miss out, check your change. A limited number of dollarbucks are being added to Australia Post’s tills across the country.
